How to put pictures from DeviantArt artists on your own journals FAQ #80: Can I add thumbnails to my journal? :
First, you need to be a subscriber to to that.
You just need to put : thumb #### : (### is the thumb number which you can find on each deviation in the right part of the Artist Comment.)
Which camera do I use : Nikon D80, bought one year ago.
[link]Which lens do I useThe most of the time I use Nikon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 (AF macro 1:2), because I can use it for several situations as portraits, close-up shots and so on. The only thing that I'm not satisfied with this lens is the aperture which is a little bit poor in my opnion (I want a f/2.8 !!)
For wide angle, I use the Tokina 12-24mm f/4. It's not a Nikon one but it's a really good lens, the render of colors are very nice and it's less expensive than the Nikon one. I use it for architecture shots and also for cityscapes type photo. (I bought it in Japan for 350 )
My first lens was Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor : I always suggest to beginners to buy this lens because of the report/ratio price quality. It's about 100, wich is really a low price and the quality of this lens is just stunning. The 50mm gives you almost the human eye vision, which means that the view is almost the same that you have with your eyes (for example, with the wide angle, what you see through your lens will be completly different from your view

)
Others materials/tools that I use:
A wireless remote control Nikon ML-L3 : it's very usefull espcially when you want to do selfportraits. Not expensive at all and very easy to use it.
I don't have a lots of polaroids in my gallery but I have also a Polaroid 600 (my scanner is broken), which is the most basic polaroid that we can have. Everything is automatised and the minimal distance neeeded is 1m, which is quite big.
I bought on eBay one week ago a Polaroid 600 One Step, which allows me to do some close-up shots. I haven't recieved it yet so I can not say anything about it for the moment but I think I'm gonna fun because we can have more control than my actual Polaroid. (exposure, focal distance...)
For the post-editing :
Computer : iMac Core Duo - 2 Ghz - 2 Go RAM - Leopard 10.5.1
Radeon X1600 - 128 Mo
I use several programs for my pictures : iPhoto to classify them, Adobe Lightroom for some corrections and Photoshop CS3 for deeper editing. These are the main programs used for the moment. But few weeks ago I found also "Aperture" and it seems to be a very nice one also. I have to test it a little bit more. I also tested DXO which is a very interesting program also. It corrects your pictures with a very precise ergonomics (in fact this program has several informations for lens and camera specifications and corrects pictures with these informations - when you buy this program, you just have to choose the pack appropriate to your camera).
Well that's enough for today I think
